Dear Radical Film Networkers,
The RFN Tolpuddle gathering at the Tolpuddle Martyr’s Festival next month (13-15 July) is shaping up with some really exciting programming, including panel discussions from documentary filmmakers and union members on the larger impact of trade disputes on community and democracy; research into the space of the everyday in “Cinemas of Conflict” as well as the “Third Space” in relation to archival practices, Comrades, and Tolpuddle Martyrs memorialisation in Dorset; workshops focusing on radical screening and audience engagement practices; politically engaged international experimental and artist’s film screening and sharing of related practice-based research; and space to discuss and think ahead to the RFN’s 1968-2018-2068 event in Scotland as well as other RFN sharing and planning.
The working group is finalising the programme and plans to make it available very soon. Registration for the event is currently open: http://www.tolpuddlemartyrs.org.uk/festival/programme/radical-film-network
And the details of the whole weekend host festival, which includes the Tolpuddle Radical Film Festival, can be found here: http://www.tolpuddlemartyrs.org.uk/festival/programme
We warmly invite your participation; please feel free to share widely with your networks. Looking forward to seeing you in the cinema bus and the festival field!
