Would you support the screening of a banned film atTolpuddle Martyr’s Festival 2023?

Due to the censorship by SWTUC of the film, Oh, Jeremy Corbyn: The Big Lie, the Tolpuddle Radical Film Festival has withdrawn from this year’s Martyr’s Festival in Tolpuddle.

Since we made this decision, it has become apparent that many of you are as uncomfortable as we are with the idea that a few centrist extremists can effectively veto the acts and films appearing at Tolpuddle.

As a result, we are now working with several South West Trade Councils and Unions to arrange a couple of screenings of the film in the Tolpuddle Village Hall on the afternoon of the festival Saturday, the 15th July.

If we are to do this, we are keen to do so as part of the movement rather than as a single rogue element.

Thus, our idea is that the film will be “presented by Tolpuddle Radical Film Festival in association with [insert name] … and here we will hopefully add a list of individuals, trade councils, trade unions and trade union branches who support us screening the film.

If you as an individual support us screening the film and/or if you are going to ask your trade council or TU branch to support the screenings, can you please let us know by emailing us at [email protected].

We look forward to hearing from you.
