Make sure to watch our screening of Waltz With Bashir (dir. Ari Folman) at the Tolpuddle Radical Film Festival. Folman’s Oscar winning film takes us through the various forms of PTSD and trauma arising in Israeli soldiers from the Lebanon War 1982. The source material comes from Folman’s own experience. Crucially, the film works towards humanising people from ‘both sides’ of the conflict as it works towards understanding the affect of war on all. Thus we can see the differentiation between the machinations of the Israeli state and the perpetrators who are, arguably, victim of the Israeli state themselves.
Make sure to catch Waltz With Bashir at 1530 at the Tolpuddle Radical Short Film Festival.
